Make Do March Challenge: A Month of Not Spending

Let me ask you something:
How often do you buy something from online?
Do you shop faster than your previous orders can be delivered?
Have you used what you last purchased?
Do you even remember what it was?
If those questions make you uncomfortable, you're not alone;
I'm guilty of overspending too.
It's easy to fall into an over-spending/over-consuming trap when you're bombarded with sales pitches every time you unlock your phone. Social media is designed for it. It's an addictive time suck that keeps you scrolling for hours, comparing your life to the seconds-long segments you see of someone else's as they show off their "must haves" for XYZ using clever keywords to make your ears perk up. You're meant to be saturated with the Fear Of Missing Out whenever they flash how great their life is because of this one thing they can't live without. It compels you to buy, giving you a quick dose of serotonin and a sense of belonging before your fingers are back to mindlessly swiping, consuming the next product being pushed your way...
Social media makes it so easy to forget to appreciate things.
Which is why I created this month's challenge: Make Do March
For the next 31 days, I'm challenging myself and you to not buy anything that isn't necessary. That's right: we'll be taking a good hard look at what we already have and putting it to use. There's so much potential in what we already own, and it's a shame we're letting it pile up and go to waste. Our time included.
Let's take back our days and stop scrolling as much.
Let's use our time to make something from those craft supplies we've been meaning to use
Let's wear that blazer you bought three months ago instead of buying a new one
Let's give our wallets a rest and get creative
Let's allow ourselves to appreciate what we already have and make it work
Let's Make Do.
Deal?
